Jiang Research Laboratory (Jianglab) Lab Introduction

The Jiang Research Laboratory (Jianglab) at Qingdao University of Technology is based at the Academic Innovation Center of Coastal Human Settlements and the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, and conducts research and talent training in collaboration with the iSMART Laboratory of Low-Carbon Building Materials. The laboratory is led by Prof. Jiang Jinming.

Responding to China's dual-carbon strategy and the green transition of the construction industry, the laboratory focuses on the valorization of industrial solid wastes and the development of low-carbon building materials, covering efficient unburned-carbon recovery from fly ash, high-value utilization of coal-based solid wastes, phase-change energy-storage materials, and aerogel composite envelopes. Its self-developed intelligent fly-ash flotation equipment has been granted 4 invention patents, achieving a carbon-recovery purity of 90% and a resource-recycling rate of 98%. These technologies have been applied in engineering practice by multiple enterprises, with cumulative technology transfer exceeding CNY 6 million.

The laboratory is committed to deep industry-academia integration and long-term collaborative innovation with industry partners, translating research outcomes into practical solutions for coastal human settlements and green, energy-efficient buildings.
